Lithuania - Moteru informacijos centras

Women’s Issues Information Centre was established in April 1996 to promote and advocate for equal rights and opportunities for women and men, to improve women's position in social and private lives and to develop an environment conducive to gender equality. The centre also serves women's NGOs and individuals by providing information, publications, consultations and training for women. The Centre initiates research and conducts statistical surveys. Its work focuses on gender mainstreaming, violence against women, trafficking in women and gender budgeting initiatives.

The Centre has an extensive network with women's organizations in Lithuania, the Baltics and in Eastern Europe. It is a member of several international women organizations including KARAT Coalition, European Women’s Lobby and it cooperates on projects with women’s centres in Nordic-Baltic countries.
