Anaïs Delaunay [she/her]
Anaïs Delaunay is the Network’s Advocacy and Policy Assistant under the supervision of the Advocacy and Policy Coordinator Xheni Dani. She will assist with the overall advocacy work of End FGM EU at the national, EU, and international levels, as well as support with the organisation of the European Week of Action for Girls (EWAG) and with updating the Network's online interactive map.
Anaïs is a feminist activist and has been focusing on fighting gender-based and sexual violence in the French Institutes of Political Studies, particularly through being involved in the intersectional feminist association Sexprimons-Nous. She worked at the local level in France and did a previous internship in ending period poverty in the French Department of Gironde schools. After obtaining an Erasmus scholarship in Turkey, she wrote her bachelor’s thesis on digital Turkish feminism and the use of social media in defending the Istanbul Convention and fighting against femicides in Turkey.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and is currently a Master’s Degree student in International Relations at Sciences Po Bordeaux. She specialised her studies in the intersection of gender with migration studies and policy analysis, especially the impact of European border security practices and migration policies on the fight against the sexual trafficking and exploitation of migrants.
Anaïs is fluent in French, Spanish, and English, and is learning Turkish.
