FORWARD – Fundraising on the Tube & more
Fundraising on the Tube, engaging with schools & children, training young women and celebrating community champions.
On the 6th of February, the FORWARD team spent the day fundraising on the London Tube, where they spoke to the public and shared information about FGM and Violence against Women & Girls (VAWG).
FORWARD’s Youth and Schools team dedicated the entire week conducting sessions with primary and secondary schools, discussing the same topics with school children and teachers.
They also conducted a three-week leadership training for a group of 16 young community women in Bristol. FORWARD supports the development of their social action plans and their actions to engage with the community for dismantling VAWG and FGM practice.
This project is in partnership with the organisation Refugee Women of Bristol, that co-hosted an event with FORWARD on the 27th of February. As a continuation of Zero Tolerance Day, they celebrated their community champions fighting against FGM and brought together the work of key agencies, communities and individuals.
