The Power of Music - Musicians Unite to End FGM (MUTEFGM)
FORWARD project Musicians Unite to End FGM (MUTEFGM) has been a huge success. MUTEFGM saw acclaimed blues musician Corey Harris perform a four date UK tour to mark International Women’s Day (IWD). The jewel in the crown of events was The Power Of Music: Artists Using Conversation and Music for Social Change. Corey came together with Congolese hip hop artist Nka1 of Lopango Ya Banka and UK rapper Sharna Cane to discuss their use of music to explore human rights and social justice issues. The tour allowed us to reach and sensitize new audiences about FGM through our use of short films and presentations in-between songs. Watch and share the Power of Music video here!
