International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation: follow our event live at the European Parliament

On 5 February 2026, on the eve of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, the End FGM European Network will hold its annual event at the European Parliament in Brussels. It will be web streamed live, allowing audiences across Europe and beyond to join the conversation and take a collective stand to end female genital mutilation (FGM).

Care in Action: a collective stand to end FGM:

This year, the End FGM EU annual campaign is launched under the theme Care in Action, highlighting the essential role of care based, survivor centred and rights driven approaches to prevent and respond to FGM. Activists, community advocates, professionals from different sectors, survivors and European policy makers will come together to reflect on achievements, ongoing challenges and the urgent need to sustain political commitments to end FGM in Europe and globally.

The event is co hosted by MEPs Cecilia Strada and Melissa Camara, with the participation of MEP Lina Galvez, chair of the FEMM Committee.
