Together to shape a future free from FGM: End FGM EU's recommendations for EU decision-makers

In the European calendar, 2024 represents a year full of changes and opportunities. From new Members of Parliament to the newly appointed college of Commissioners, EU decision-makers have the unique opportunity to shape a future free from FGM, where everyone can thrive.

In 2024 we will celebrate the 10 years of the End FGM European Network. During the past 10 years, with the support of EU decision-makers we had the opportunity to advance the movement to end FGM and build strong policies and strategies to tackle gender-based violence. However, the next 5 years will be critical as we are also conscious that efforts made to end the practice need to be intensified. We need to build on existing framework to create more robust and more inclusive EU policies to tackle FGM, end all forms of GBV, reach the gender equality goals and overall create a EU where we can all live free from violence.

Read below our recommendations and join us in shaping a future free from FGM.
