UPDATE! The EU has signed the Istanbul Convention

On the 13th of June 2017, the Commissioner Jourová signed the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and girls (Istanbul Convention) in Strasbourg.

Being the only convention that address FGM as a form of violence against women and girls, the End FGM European Network believes this is a great step in the EU’s action to end FGM.
