Youth Ambassadors raising FGM with UN leaders
Young people should be provided with a space to meaningfully engage with decision makers and policy makers at all levels. In the spirit of European Week of Action for Girls (EWAG), Youth Ambassador, Samera Ali accompanied End FGM EU Director, Fiona Coyle,to a meeting set up between civil society actors and UN Women's Deputy Asa Regner.
The meeting discussed a wide range of issues including FGM and the challenges of the women’s rights movements in Europe and globally. Within the meeting it was evident that time has never been more right to work together to ensure that young women and girls are empowered, and their voices are heard.
"Only by doing this will we together shape a better world for all girls" - Fiona Coyle, End FGM EU Director
