International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR)
The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) entered into force in 1976. At present, 160 countries have signed and ratified the Covenant. The treaty spells out obligations relating to labour rights, family rights, and individual rights. Article 12 recognises the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health.
