Who are they?
The Human Rights and Democracy Network (HRDN) is an informal grouping of 57 Non-Governmental Organisations operating at the EU level in the broader areas of human rights, democracy and peace. HRDN aims to influence the European Union and its Member States’ human rights policies and the programming of their funding instruments to promote democracy, human rights and peace.
Current Projects
We participate in two HRDN working groups:
- The European Parliament Working Group: it contributes to the enhancement of the European Parliament’s action on human rights and democracy matters and supports the EU role as a global actor on these issues.
- The EU Internal Human Rights Policy Working Group: it advocates that the European Union and its Member States should elaborate a comprehensive internal human rights strategy to strengthen EU action on human rights across all EU internal policies.
