On 22 November 2023, the End FGM European Network and its UK members, National FGM Centre, FORWARD UK, We Speak Out and Orchid Project submitted a Shadow Report to the Council of Europe GREVIO Committee, on the implementation of the Istanbul Convention by the UK.

On 16th of July 2023, jointly with the partners from the Global Platform for Action to End FGM/C and the Interregional Coalition, End FGM EU organised a full-day Women Deliver pre-conference titled “Catalyzing Global Action To End Female Genital Mutilation Or Cutting (Fgm/C)”

In October 2022, the European Commission launched its first-ever Youth Action Plan (YAP) for EU external action, covering 2022-2027. This paper, written jointly by European civil society organisations, offers a brief analysis of the YAP and introduces a set of recommendations for its execution.

28/09/2023 Joint civil society position on the Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence

Together with other civil society organisations, we call on EU institutions to ensure that the Directive truly serves the needs of all survivors/victims of violence against women and girls and domestic violence, advances the achievement of gender equality and the effective protection of victims’ rights in the European Union, and recognizes the essential role of civil society organisations in ensuring prevention, protection, and direct support services for victims.

15/09/2023 End FGM EU's Letter of recommendations to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU

As part of our advocacy efforts, every six months we send End FGM EU’s recommendations to the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union on matters related to FGM and Gender Equality. On September 13, we addressed Spain with a letter of recommendations for their ongoing semester as Presidency of the Council.
